Hair today, gone tomorrow.

Well I finally thought that Julia suffered enough. I took her to get her hair cut. I was also sick and tired of wrestling her every morning to brush her rat's nest of hair. Plus I was tired of the way she cut it herself.
Sariah also had to get her haircut. Here are some before and after picts. I don't know why they turned out the way they did (out of order) but they are pictures none the less :P.

Julia's Haircut

So, I was upstairs folding laundry while Sariah and Julia were playing (in different rooms) downstairs. Julia came up to ask me a question when I saw this........ I grabbed the kid by the shirt and pulled her over the laundry basket of clothes I was folding and screamed "WHAT DID YOU DO?" To say the least I wasn't very happy with this little one. Sariah has never cut her hair before.
So you see she has shorter bangs and then even shorter hair (about 1/2 inch long or less) This kid is going to be the death of me........ I really don't know what to do with her anymore.

So being the nice mommy I am, I let her go to school like this. It has been about 3 weeks since the hair incident and well, I still haven't gotten around to taking her to the salon for a hair cut. She has to live with this horrid hair for a while. I am just too kind.......

Auntie wanted to have a tea party with all the kids. She had her dream tea party and I will tell you we had a blast. Kathy was the fabulous waitress while I did the make up and hair. I couldn't do all of it, so Kathy assisted me in that. The kids were served crackers, mini sandwich's, grapes, other fruit, and sparkling cider. They loved it. Everyone dressed up for the occasion (including Ben) and what a fun day it was.

San Diego

I know I havn't written in a while, but I am in San Diego enjoying time with my family and some amazing friends. I need to post some pictures but will be doing that when I get home.

I was able to spend about 2 weeks with my sister, Kathy and her 5 kids. She is so organized with what they are doing. She is gone now and I am trying to squeeze in my visiting so I don't miss anyone.

I will be home next month. I have been gone for the whole month and I am missing my hubby. He is such a amazing man. I can't wait to see him, but still trying to enjoy my time here. I will write more, with pictures when I get home.

Initiation

This morning I woke up and took my dogs out for their morning tinkle, to find my car cling wraped. (cant spell suran wrap LOL) I sat there and had to chuckle at how many times I went TP'ing with my mom as the get-a-way driver. It was always in good fun. I thought wow the Young Women have gotten creative. A few seconds later, Sariah comes out with sissors in hand and proceeds to cut the cling wrap off of my car, (so I didn't get a pict) I had to go downstairs for something and found that whomever did this deed had also wrapped my husbands car. I thought, oh no he must have been late for work this morning cleaning it up. Then, I found "the note"...... It was in BIG, BRIGHT PINK paper. It said "Welcome to Wyoming" and in little print in the corner it read "love the 2nd shift" Oh so now I know the culperate of the whole surran...... I mean cling wrap incident...... friends at Tommy's work, hm..... only one of them know where we live........ that narrows it down quite a bit, hehe. When he returned from work, he had found out who had played the joke on him, and he said that he has been playing pranks on them for a while now and that he had it comming to him..... Oh well, it was still all in good fun :)

Sariahs wagon

For Valentines Day, Sariah had to make a Covered Wagon. This is what she came up with. I helped her (a little) but for the most part she did it herself.

Baby Shower invites

I am very happy with the way these turned out. I would have like to use a different stamp set, but this was all I had at the time :)

Fort Laramie

The Girls learned a lot of history about Ft. Laramie

These are the old ruins that was there. Ft Laramie was built in the 1800's and housed many soldiers.
This used to be the bridge that everyone crossed. Somebody told me that this bridge was brought over on covered wagons from the east coast and put up here.
We were sopost to go to Mt. Rushmore, but due to that days events, we settled for going to see Ft. Laramie (it is closer to us than Mt. Rushmore).
We enjoyed looking and reading about the different events that happen there. It is a well preserved National Park.

Stars

Sunday night I went to take the dogs out. I looked up at the dark sky and saw all the stars and was thinking. I am so lucky to live in this Country and in this place. I looked down the street and heard the wind blowing through the trees. What I didn't hear was yelling, cars honking, people, and noise. I just heard earth and nature. When I looked into the sky, I saw STARS, bright and beautiful STARS. I didn't see smog, polution, you get my point right?!?! I thought how lucky I am to live here, where I am. I was also thinking about Memorial Day and all of those who went before us. How they paved the way for us to live here in this beautiful Country. I am really lucky to have such a great life and family. They are always there to help and support me. I was happy to enjoy such a beautiful day, because on Monday, it rainned :P

National Scrapbook Day

Today was national Scrapbook day and I deceided to go with a friend to the Torrington Office Supply (aka the only place to buy scrapbook stuff in town) for their scrap-a -thon. It was so much fun to get to know more of the people here in town. I also finished 6 pages..... (I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but it took a while to get things organized.) The kids stayed home with Tommy and they raked and planted the back yard with grass. I guess they had a good time, not so sure about Tom though :P He is a good sport. But my hands and back hurt so I'm going to bed....
My mom said I don't update this thing very often, so I have been trying to be better.

Snow? In MAY?

My Mom hasn't see picts of our newest member so I decieded to post them here. Titan is a sweet dog and he and Chloe get along great....... just as Chloe gets her way. He is quite tall next to Chloe, but we like him and he is a cutie.

Julia got bored and decieded to have a ball.... She invited all of her imagionary friends and had a blast.

Yes it is May 2, 2008 and there is a blizzard going on outside. My poor hubby got stuck up in Lusk, an hour away, and is unable to get home. Thankfully, I was able to find him a hotel for $35 which was cheep. He was offered to stay at one of his co-workers houses, but graciously declined. (He wasn't about to walk around in his underwear there and well, his uniform isn't that comfy) Poor guy won't be home tonight because of the storm. But hay maybe me and the girls will have a fun movie night or something with hot cocoa and popcorn. They always love that.

Cheyenne

Origionally Written 4-21-08

My hubby and I went to Cheyenne today and I really enjoyed the scenery. I saw a bunch of Cows with their baby calf's just roaming in the field. It was beautiful to see them enjoying the sun and just being cows. It was warm today, I say that in a Wyoming since, because it was about 62 F. Normally in Cali, I would have been bundled up in a jacket and sweater at that type of weather. But I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt and it was very nice to be outside and enjoying the sunshine. Today would be the perfect day to go to the tide pools if I were home in Cali, but no we spent the day in Cheyenne. It was nice to go to a "big" city...... hehe my friends in Cali will laugh at that one, Cheyenne is no comparison to San Diego....... One other thing that I saw that amused me were trees. They looked to me like Douglas Furs (Christmas Trees) they would be on the side of the "freeway" between 2-4 rows thick and about (I don't know) 40 trees long. They would be every 2-10 miles apart or so. There were little ones and big ones. I don't know why they are planted there but it was pretty neat to see that. OH, and we found a Wendy's YEAH!! We drove all over Cheyenne and found a Wendy's, it was in a gas station but who cares right? and I enjoyed every bite of my baconator and my frosty!! Yeah for Wendy's!! (Yeah we don't eat a lot of fast food anymore..... there isn't much to choose from in Torrington)

HELL

Well this last week has been a serious HELL for me......... I know that it isn't such a great word, but it is the only one that works in this case....... On Friday I went to the Neurologist and she decieded that I needed a Lumbar Puncture. For those, like me who are not used to BIG words, a spinal tap...... OUCH!! Last time I had one of those I was litterally on my back for 3 weeks. Well, she told me to go in on Sunday to have a blood patch and that should make it better. On Saturday, my migrane began....... I called the hospital to see if I could have the blood patch early, the Neurologist on call for my doctor was a BIG JERK! I have another word for him....... but I won't say it....... um anyways he wouldn't authorize the BP (blood puncture) and guess what he was on all weekend. Well, me being the person I am....... tried to go around the DR. and find another means of getting this BP done..... I guess it got back to the DR and well he was not happy with me...... When my Dr called on monday, at 8:10, may I add..... great dr :) I had a few choice words for her "fill in Dr." and I'm sure she did too :) well I finally got my BP on monday and I am able to sit up for 2 hours..... max but its better than nothing YEAH I am still in pain, my back is killing me and my head hurts :( but I can sit at my computer for little times hehe....

Crush

Sariah came home from school today and told me......... "You know that boy who likes me?" , "Yes, Michael right?" I answered her........ "Well," she said as she got closer to me..... Tommy rolling his eyes, "I kinda like him too"

Wow my daughters first crush. She is only 9 years old...... I told her that we are not sopost to date till she is 16 and that dating is to find the one you are going to marry. Then I asked her if she was ready to get married.... hehe..... She said NO!! (good girl) Well then, I told her, you can always have more friends...

She is definately MY DAUGHTER!! I feel bad for Tommy, he is starting to stress over this. He can't believe that she started to like boys already. He needs to get his gun out soon :P hehe..... Ugh and to think this is just the beginning

Monday, February 25, 2008

This week has been a crazy one for me. First of all my sister's little boy...... newborn, has been jaundice. We have been really worried about cute, chunky Eli. He is finally doing better and I hope that the belly rubin lights are a thing of the past.

On Thursday, Febuary 21, 2008 Jennifer Magoffin/ Spagnolo woke up to find her 10 year old, Chad, totally blue. He was rushed to the hospital where he was hooked up to a ventolator. He had no sign of brain activity. He was given a blessing that said he had the choice to live or to go back to heaven. Later that evening, the family could no longer feel his spirit with his body and took him off the ventolator. Which I am sure was not an easy task to undertake. Friday Febuary 22, Chad's body stopped working. Chad is no longer with us in body, but his spirit will forever remain with those he loves. Chad was a very active little boy. He was VERY intellegent, if you know his mother, you know what I mean. My heart goes out to his family and I know that the prayers of all have been felt. I have been very sad for my friend.

Then, I have been under the weather. I don't think I have a cold anymore, but I am having problems with my eyes. Oh and (mom) the list........ my shoulder has been killing me. I think that I over used my arm and I have to remember that I can't function that way anymore.

Okay that is all for now. I just hope that next week is a better one....

Thursday, February 21, 2008

Finally I've started it!!

Okay so I am in Wyoming now and I have some time to type. The snow is melting and I think I have a cold. I will just be writing some random thoughts on this post, so sorry if I tend to babble.

Tommy is really enjoying his work. He is happy and seems to have less stress out here. The warden is a great guy and has an open door policy which Tom really loves. He is getting to know some of the guys in town and making new friends. He is also the teacher for the elders courum..... (yes I know I cant spell) Poor guy has to scrape ice off his car windows every morning. hehehe......

Diane, me, well I am doing great! I have met some new friends and really think that things are starting to move along. I really miss my friends and family at home, but think that the move was a really good thing for the family. I am trying to get my stampin- up back up and working in this small town. I am also borrowing a sewing machine from "grandma Kate" and working on some things with that.

Sariah is loving school. She has told me several times that she is happy here and that she is learning how to love math. I used to fight with her to go to school, but now she is ready and has a good time there. She has met some new friends and done some great things with the school. She also made her valentines cards for her class this year. Yeah I know I gotta post some pictures, I will get to it :P......

Julia has adopted some grandma's. She went up to the Relief Society President and asked her if she could call her grandma..... It was so cute she couldn't say no. Julia then walked up to Sister Kelly and told her. "I am sitting with my other grandma" lol it was cute but Kate Kelly said.... "forget grandma Barbara, I'm grandma Kate!!!" Julia has sure gotten into the hearts of some of the older ladies. They are so cute with her. Oh and the other day Julia said to Tommy, "you need a table on you heart like mommy" A TABLE!!!! hehehehe where does this kid get these things??

Last but not least...... Chloe. She is a funny little dog..... She wants to go outside but doesn't like the snow.... she also freezes her feet. It is funny to watch her prance around and try not to touch the ground. She will NOT pee on the snow. She is funny! She has a "special" toy and once she is done with it, she asks like she is kicking dirt on it. She also likes to bury her bones in clothes or whatever she can find.

Well thats all I got for now...... Hope to keep everyone updated from now on... LATER
